how to apply view non latin character when converting to pdf

1.  i am not using jasper studio
2. i am not using ireport
3. i am only using net.sf.jasperreports.jar
4. i compile the file from my application

my tomcat-7 views all languages correctly

my java configuration views all lagnuages correctly

my pdf files views all languages correctly(files that were not generated by jasperReports)(pdf files generated by jasperReports dont view non-latin characters)

i have read all the books and all the guides.

at least tell me what is happening when converting to PDF fils using jasperReports library.
