[value expression in charts]

Hello,

I want to make a chart with all columns of my table in the x axis (category expression) and their value in y axis (value expression). The problem is that their values in the y axis are not numeric, they are carachters( '-', '=' , '+'  or  '++' )

 I did a substitution of my characters into integers, but now i want my charachters to appear not integers, didn't know how to do that

Anyone has an idea please?

Hello,

I installed JasperServer with the option of installing it with an existing version of tomcat. Now i want to uninstall it (i decided to use iReport instead). my question is when i uninstall jasperserver ,is there a risk that my tomcat will be an uninstalled too?!

hi, i am using IReport version 5.6.0 , i want to visualise a pie chart divided by the nature of one field called "type"  so as i understood the key expression must be $F{type}, as for the value expression i want it to be the number of ligns in my database grouped by types, so i wrote the following query " select count(*) as orders, type from vacation GROUP BY type " , then putted $F{orders} as the value expression, but it's not working.

Any help? :(

 

 

[getting started page]

hi, i've just installed version5.6.0 of jasperReports Server, i'm a beginner and i really need to create dashboards with it. My problem is when i see tutorials, it shows a getting started page with many features (ad hoc, domains, dashboards...) and a menu with an item "create" while i don't have any of this, i just have in the left folders and a menu with 'library', 'view' and 'manage'

what is the problem? Pleaseee help me
