[Newbie - JMagallanes kind of interface to sum and group for charting and printing]

Hi all

Another newb question.  I had stumbled upon JMagallanes which I guess was based on an older version of JasperReport.  JMagallanes has an interface which allowed a user to drag drop categories in the left hand column and the related numerical values would sum and group allowing an interactive drill down from the same data query.  Of course then the user could do a chart or a printed report from it.

Is this possible in JasperReport?  I have downloaded JasperReport Studio CE but I was not able to locate such a facility.

Hi all

I have just downloaded and started JasperSoft Studio.  I have tried to create a test adapter for firebird.  I tried to create a new A4 report.  I provided the required SELECT statement (though the message that it is retriving metadata never goes away).  After providing a simple SELECT statemennt I click next and I get an error (screen shot pasted).
