Thanks for the reply. I would love utilize JasperReports server, and am sure you're right that it's the best way, but it's not an option for us right now. Thanks for the advice.

I've created several reports in ireport using a csv datasource. I'd like to distribute the reports as jar files so only the csv file needs to be updated. I'm at a loss of how to go about this. I tried working with Ant and Netbeans, but I haven't gotten very far. If anyone could point me in the right direction, that would be great.

I've been working on this for days now. I can get static text elements in the subreport to show, but I can't get my subreport data to load. I'm using the same Datasource for my main report and my subreports. I found this post of which the second answer from mdahlman seems to answer my question. However, after a lot of work I can't figure out how to add the helper class. I tried compiling a jar file to use as a scriptlet but I can't get it to work. Obviously I'm new to java and need some basic concepts explained. Thanks for any help.

I'm fairly new to iReport and have no other experience with java. I'm trying to figure out how to deploy a report with an external csv datasource as an executable jar file. I found this, but I'm not sure if I'm going about the compiling process right. I'm trying to use the info at the previous link to compile a class file and then the jar file, but I can't create the class file due to errors. I'm trying to do the compiling in the mac terminal. Any guidance would be appreciated.
