Hi,
I am new to iReport, but it looks, as if it could solve some of my problems.
I want to generate PDF-Files out of the database.I managed to create a report.
How can I run this report "stand alone" from the command-line?
I think of a command-line like this:
run-jasper-report.sh report-file PDF-File-Name param1 param2Any hint, how to solve this problem or are there any how-to-files ?

I defined under services/database/drivers/ JDBC-working connection. How can I direct the report to use my defined connection ?
At which place is the "Table dataset 1" defined ?I search for the missing link between the defined connections and the report.

Hi, I am new to iReport.
I design my first report within WIndows and then copied the .jrxml-File to LInix,
where I have the iReport installed as well. The Font, I used is Arial, as usual in windows.
In Linux, I do not see my writing. When I look at my existing fonts,
I see, the fobnts are very limited at Linux, i.e. Arial, Helvetica and as is missing. What is the correct way, to move an report to linux (debian),
which was designed at Windows?
Are there all Information about the report in the .jrxml-file?
How can I use fonts like Arial / Helventica on Linux ?Code: <jasperReport xmlns="http://jasperreports.sourceforge.net/jasperreports" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://jasperreports.sourceforge.net/jasperreports http://jasperreports.sourceforge.net/xsd/jasperreport.xsd" name="rechnung65" language="groovy" pageWidth="595" pageHeight="842" columnWidth="555" leftMargin="20" rightMargin="20" topMargin="20" bottomMargin="20"> <property name="ireport.zoom" value="1.0"/> <property name="ireport.x" value="0"/> <property name="ireport.y" value="0"/> <subDataset name="Table Dataset 1"/> <queryString language="SQL"> sELECT gut.*, per.* FROM gut, gp , perWHERE gp_gut = gut_nr AND gp_per = per_nrAND gp_status = "V" AND gut_nr = 2650 </queryString> <field name="gut_nr" class="java.lang.Integer"/> <field name="gut_kurz" class="java.lang.String"/> <field name="gut_az" class="java.lang.String"/> <field name="per_adr1" class="java.lang.String"/> <field name="per_adr2" class="java.lang.String"/> <field name="gut_dir" class="java.lang.String"/> <field name="per_adr3" class="java.lang.String"/> <field name="per_str" class="java.lang.String"/> <field name="per_plz" class="java.lang.String"/> <field name="per_ort" class="java.lang.String"/> <background> <band splitType="Stretch"/> </background>
<band height="291" splitType="Stretch"> <staticText> <reportElement x="16" y="8" width="242" height="58"/> <textElement textAlignment="Center" verticalAlignment="Top"> </textElement> <text>EDV-Sachverständigenbüro Gramberg & Vogel</text> </staticText> <line> <reportElement x="262" y="5" width="1" height="280"/> <graphicElement> <pen lineWidth="0.5"/> </graphicElement> </line> <line> <reportElement x="0" y="138" width="555" height="1"/> <graphicElement> <pen lineWidth="0.5"/> </graphicElement> </line> <staticText> <reportElement x="265" y="5" width="304" height="22"/> <textElement verticalAlignment="Middle"> </textElement> <text>bernhard O. HI,
thanks, that helped.
But for a beginner in iReport, it´s a bit surpising,
to make special decisions for PDF.
In Winodws, I am used to an automatic translation vom i.e. Arial -> Helvetica.
But a anyway, now I have a solution.
thanks for listening and helping.

HI,

My Probelm is: I have my first little report with some text (font arial, normal and bold).
When I output (preview) the report with word (docx-format),
the bold apears, as it should. When I direct generate a PDF, no bold is visible,
All letters are in normal font, no bold.Any Idea, what to do ?

Hi,
thank you for the fast answer.
I think, mny problem is, that I work in two worlds (Windows + Unix).
I prepare the Report with the wizard at Windows and get filename like c:\images\wood.jpg. So teh filke is stored in the Windows file-System
My JasperServer is running ob my Linux-System. I imported the JRXML. Where the "wrong" filename is located. Because on the Linux-System, there is no C:\.
But I will try now to edit the JRXML-File and use /image/wood.jpg.
This /image seems to be the logical place, where the file is.
------------------
So the main question is: how are JPGs handeled easy, if I create
the Report within Windows and transfer it to the linux-Jasperserver
wihout editing the JRXML:

Hi,
I changed the value from wood.jpg to "wood.jpg".
This changes the error message, but still gives an error.

HI,
real upload means: copy the file-data into the RDBMS.
I have an wood.jpg-image now, but get the following error message.
Any Idea, what must the changed ?
com.jaspersoft.jasperserver.api.JSExceptionWrapper: net.sf.jasperreports.engine.fill.JRExpressionEvalException: Error evaluating expression :
Source text : wood.jpg
at net.sf.jasperreports.engine.fill.JREvaluator.evaluate(JREvaluator.java:193)

Hi,
I am new to JasperServer and made first Tests.
Jasperserver is running fine, but the Report,
which contains wood.jpg gives error (wood.jpg missing).
I imported the wood.jpg from Windows Z:\images\wood.jpg.
and named the resource wood- does the recource-name must be the same as the filename ? (wood.jpg instead of wood?)
- Is this a real Upload of the JPG ?
- Where do I find the uploaded files in Unix-Filesystem ?
or is it imported in the SQL-databaseYours Bernhard

I tried port 81 now,
than it works
But I prefer to have higher numbers
-
HI,
I am installing on Debian and get the error Message:
- Unable to bind to the given port number
(8080 / 8005).
What can be the reason.
I changed the Port to 8088, but the same problem.
Installation this on Suse, it works fine.
