Hello I'd like to have a step by step help to write a conditon expression in order to change a color af a field in my report.
I added a conditional style to my report, what I need now is to write the condition expression.
Java is the language property of my report.
My field is a java.lang.String type and can assume two different values "Ok!" and "No good"
The field is included in the details so that I can have a report like this
my_field_label
-----------------------
1 Ok!
2 Ok!
3 No good
What I need is to create the conditional style and if the value in the field is "Ok!" print the field with a green color if it's "No good" the color should be red.

If the report appear the same it's probably because the compiled version of your jrxml template (the file .jasper) has not been refreshed. So now you can try to save your report with another name and open it again and run again it.

I have a report in iReport 4.7.1 with a multi-selected input control, java.util.Collection mandatory, and the result of the query in JasperServer gives a lot of values. I'd like to insert in my input control a Check Box "All values" in order to select all the values and not selct them one by one.
Example: code for input_control
select A from Tab returns values: a, b, c, d, e .....
code for my query report
select * from tab where $X{IN, field, input_control}

Hi,
is it possible to include in an iReport template (versione 4.7.1) a new element, a tree view object to use with my JasperServer reports in order to show data groupped by nodes? If it's possible can you give me indications step by step or some links? I've searched in the forum but I found only a link to a nanotree.js but I can't understand how to include it in iReport or in JasperServer reports.

Hi Anton, I'm again asking your help. maybe there's something wrong or that I miss.
1) I changed the internationalized setting on the Log-in page and now everything appears translated (labels, button ecc.).
2) I edited the jasperserver_config.properies and I've modified calendar.date.format and all the other lines, belows are the new lines
date.format=dd-MM-yyyy
datetime.format=dd-MM-yyyy HH:mm
calendar.date.format=dd-mm-yy
calendar.datetime.format=dd-mm-yy hh:mm
calendar.time.format=hh:mmI do not if when changing the language from the main Log-in page, Jasper uses jasperserver_config.properies or jasperserver_config_it.properies, so I've edited and modified also jasperserver_config_it.properies file like the other.
But I have this problem: when I open the report labels are translated in italian, calendar is italian but after clicking on close buttom of the popup calendar, date is copied in the field in the wrong way, ex. 2012-10-18 and not in dd-mm-yyyy format
If I'm trying to start the report I have a this message "Specify a valid value for type Date." as the format is not correct. Obviously i can edit and manually change in 18-10-2012 but it's not want I want ... I'd like that the calendar close button would work properly .... is there something that I miss?
I stop and restart tomcat but with no positive result. I saw that there is also a file named calendar_it.properties ... must I change some values in it? For Exemples the last lines # date formats

Answer n°1: do I stop and restart apache-tomcat in order to have the new file working?
Answer n°2: I mean that my log-in homepage is already translated in italian (not everything actually) but error messages are in english and also calendar date are in english format. I would llike to have everything in italian languages ... maybe messages are not translated anyhow I'll go to see the Appendix, I will let you know.

Ok, try to put an alias to yout table query and put another alias to the duplicate field. Exemples
select A.id as ID_A, B.ID as ID_B from account_invoice A JOIN res_partner B ON A.partner_id =B.id
Try to put in the "select" only the fields that you need and do not use *

Did you try to check 'Automatically retrive the fields'? Does the field appear in the field list below the report query? Sometimes you need to refresh your query in oder fields appear in your report inspector

I need your help in order to customize some default values in JasperReports 4.7.
1)how to change data pattern for the main input control? I've put dd/MM/yyyy in the pattern data type details but it doesn't work as when I run the report date are with yyyy-MM-dd format
2) I would also know if it's possible to change the default languages of JasperReports and to do it
3) Id like to knoe if it's possible to change messages for input controls. Ex. when I have an input controls that is mandatory, there's this message 'This field is mandatory so you must enter data.' I would like to change it, how can I do?

Hallo, I'm trying to export some JasperServer Reports located under a folder. This is the command line:
js-export --uris /reports/my_folder --output-zip C:\a
but I get an error C:a (Accesso negato) that is Access denied
Can anyone help me please?

Sorry I realized now that I made a mistake on the command line, sintax must be:
js-export --uris /reports/myfolder --output-zip C:\myexportfoldermyfilename.zip
Exemples:
js-export --uris /reports/my_folder --output-zip C:\aexport.zip
With such sintax the problem is solved

how can I change iReport properties to obtain a report with numeric values with comma delimiter insted af point?
Exemples: now I have 123.456 but I'd like to have a report with values 123,456
I'd like to change iReport global behaviour and not single fields patterns .
I was looking on iReport options but I didn't find it

Report query is not for an Excel Datasource. If you don't want all the columns in the report simply don't put the fields in the layout. If, for some reason, you don't want the columns in Excel datasource, while creating it, delete the columns after clicking on "Get columns name from the first row of the file".

I sow you solved your problem with my solution! I'm writing "my solution" for everybody else that see this thread ....
1) In iReport you can develop your master report with one ore more subreports. It's important to save the path of the directory of the subreport not as an absolute path (like C:\\my_jasper\\subreport.jasper) but using a parameter (if you use the wizard when you are designing you subreport in your master one, you have to check the right option, and the subreport path will be (Attachment 1):
$P{SUBREPORT_DIR} + "name_of_subreport.jasper"
2) When you will add the Report Unit on your JasperServer you will be asked the proposed expression for you subreport (Attachment 2). Click on "Continue" button to confirm the expression "repo:name_of_subreport.jrxml"
With such procedure JaspeServer will automacitally copy your subreport under the Resources directory of your report unit (Attachment 3)
Hope this should be usefull for everyboy.

Hi, I usually save the subreport in the same directory of master report and I'm using
$ P{SUBREPORT_DIRECTORY} + “subreport_name.jasper†as subreport exression.
When I create the report unit on JasperServer I put the subreport under "Resources" of the report unit. Hope to be usefull ...

You can use to_char and to_date SQL function to convert and manage date and string
TO_CHAR: Given a date ex. of 27/02/97, returns '27-FEB-97'
TO_DATE: Converts a Char date to a Date data type.
Examples:
select TO_DATE(20111025, 'YYYYMMDD') AS DATE from dual
returns 25/10/2011
or
select to_char(TO_DATE(20111025, 'YYYYMMDD'), 'YYYY') AS YEAR from dual
returns only the year 2011

Is it possible to change the template of the input control windows? I'm using a query wiht more than 700 option results and I would like to show them in three or four columns instead of only one.

First of all I'm a newby with ireport so I hope that somebody can helm me, I read a lot of previous messages and I didn't find a solution.
I'm running a 4.1.3 iReport version with a jdbc connection to a oracle 11g database.
In my query I have a CLOB field that in iReport is a oracle.sql.CLOB field type. The query is ok but when I try to pubblish my report I got an error ... can you please tell me what can I do to let the information of the CLOB appear?

Hi, I have a report with two java.util.Collection parameters and my report query is like that in the Code.
In the report unit under jasperserver there are two input controls, pMacro is mandatory and pCategoria is not mandatory, but pCategoria get the report having all the values of the parameter if I didn't choose any value in the input control. How can I set the default value to gat ANY value? I try to put "" but I have an error

Yes you're right that was the case. I've changed the data source origin for the report with the new one and then I have been able to deleta the wrog data source.
Thank you again.Is it possible to report this case to jasperserver developers so that they can improve a better error message? If this is the case how can I do?

After deploying your local report on JasperServer, you had to create an input control, pay attention to write on the ID field the exact name of your parameter, so pTeacherName. You had to specify the correct Type of your input Control Details, if it's a single select or a multi select query type you had to write the correct select.
