  • TIBCO JasperReports® Server v6.2 Single Organization ImportFailedException: "Import failed. Reason: Your license doesn't allow access to more than one organization"

    Tom C
    • Features: JasperReports Server, Repository Version: v6.2 Product: JasperReports® Server

    When imigrating a single organization structure repository content ("everything") from a previous release version into a 6.2 version of TIBCO JasperReports® Server instance with a single tenancy license using import web UI, the import process will fail if the "Update" import option is checkmarked,

    The error found in jasperserver.log file is as the following:

    ......ERROR ImportRunnable,pool-14-thread-1:81 - Import failed:
    com.jaspersoft.jasperserver.export.service.ImportFailedException: Import failed.
    Reason: Your license doesnt allow access to more than one organization.Please contact Jaspersoft Technical Support.

    This defect (internal reference number 44863) will be fixed in the upcoming JasperReports Server v6.2.1 release in a few months. To work around this problem, user can either

    1) running the import without "Update" option;

    or

    2) contacting Jaspersoft Tech Support and get a temporary multi-tenancy license. Deploy the temp license into JasperReports Server v6.2 installation, restart server, and run the import again. Making sure after the success of the migration, replace the temp license with the original single tenancy license in your 6.2 instance to prevent users from creating additional organizations in conflicts with your license contract agreement.

    This article only covers the JRS release version 6.x "AS IS ''. The described defect has been fixed in the newer version of JRS products. Should users having problem with repository content migration from a multi-tenancy repo structure into a single tenancy JRS deployment, Tibco Jaspersoft Tech Support will not be able to provide a temporary license to meet user's migration need since this will violate the support contract term and condition with legal ramifications. In such cases, users should contact their account manager from Tibco sales team to amend their support contract and purchase additional multi-tenancy licenses to support their new multi-organization reporting requirement.
