Data too long for JIAuditEventProperty table

User can get the following data truncation error when enabling auditing:

2011-06-03 20:16:47,595 WARN JDBCExceptionReporter,http-8080-9:100 - SQL Error: 1406, SQLState: 01004

2011-06-03 20:16:47,597 ERROR JDBCExceptionReporter,http-8080-9:101 - Data truncation: Data too long for column 'value' at row 1

The problem relates to JIAuditEventProperty table that has a 'value' column defined as varchar(250).

Resolution

This bug is recorded for JasperReports Server 3.7.1 and later versions as internal reference number 20002 and is scheduled to be fixed in the 2nd phase of our next major product release toward the end of 2012. For the time being, and as a work around, user should to increase the column size of JIAUDITEVENTPROPERTY.VALUE to deal with the size issue.
