Using report execution hyperlinks in custom implementations

Description:

In iReport, users have the ability to include report execution hyperlinks that would enable reports to be run by clicking on a hyperlink that is part of the report output. If the report output is generated outside of the JasperReports Server web application e.g. using the reporting engine integrated in a customized web application, do these hyperlinks still work?

Solution:

Using report execution hyperlinks outside of the JasperReports Server web application will not work due to additional internal mechanisms within the JasperReports Server application that create the hyperlink. This is mentioned in section 9.5.6 of the JasperReports Server Ultimate Guide 4.2 PDF.
