  • Why TIBCO JasperReports Server is not deployed after a successful Installation?

    Tom C
    • Features: JasperReports Server Version: v6.3 Product: JasperReports® Server

    When installing TIBCO JasperReports® Server using WAR distribution package, if user sets skipAppServerCheck in default_master.properties file, such as:

    appServerType=skipAppServerCheck

    the installation process with not get JasperReports Server (JRS) web application deployed. In such case, user will see the following message in the installation log:

    do-deploy-webapp-if-needed:
    [echo] Deployment is skipped because appServerType is set to skipAppServerCheck

    Current supported application server type that user can use for TIBCO JasperReports Server buildomatic installation scripts are:
    tomcat6, tomcat7, jboss, glassfish2, glassfish3

    • Please refer to "Upgrading from 6.2 to 6.3" community wiki article section "Example Buildomatic Configuration" (appServerType=tomcat6 [tomcat7, jboss, glassfish2, glassfish3] )

    For other application servers not on the list, user should use "skipAppServerCheck" setting since those web application servers have their own deployment procedure (for instance, WebLogic application deployment console). In such situation, TIBCO JasperReports Server installation script only takes care of repository database deployment. User will need to manually carry out TIBCO JasperReports Server web application deployment. Please refer to TIBCO JasperReports Server Installation Guide for further detail.
