Upgrading TIBCO JasperReports® Server from 6.4.0 to 6.4.2

User has performed a TIBCO JasperReports^® Server 6.4.2 upgrade from 6.4.0 release. During the upgrade, user received the following error:

[advanced-sql] Executing resource: /opt/nsp/nfmp/analytics/nfmpanalytics/buildomatic/install_resources/sql/oracle/upgrade-oracle-6.3.0-6.4.0-pro.sql 
[advanced-sql] Failed to execute: create index JIResourceFolder_hidden_index on JIResourceFolder (hidden) 
[advanced-sql] java.sql.SQLSyntaxErrorException: ORA-00955: name is already used by an existing object 
[advanced-sql] 0 of 1 SQL statements executed successfully 

As it appears, user has followed the procedure in TIBCO JasperReports^® Server Upgrade Guide v6.4 document,  Chapter 3 "Upgrading from 6.3 to 6.4" to carry out the JRS intra version upgrade. 

Installation script js-upgrade-samedb intended for 6.3 to 6.4 upgrade performs update in place in repository DB and it only works against 6.3 repository. There's no DB changes between 6.4.0 and 6.4.2. User should not attempt to run inter version upgrade script (such as 6.3.0 to 6.4.0) for JasperReports^® Server intra version product upgrade (such as 6.4.0 to 6.4.2). 

Instead, user should run a standard deployment for JasperReports Server 6.4.2 and migrate 6.4.0 repository content into new 6.4.2 using export/import utilities. Alternately, user can use the old manual upgrade steps skipping DB parts and only runs "js-ant deploy-webapp-pro" to delete old war file and deploy the 6.4.2 war file - please refer to:
