Quoting the question:
“Is it possible to save the output of a report to a folder on the JS server?
For example, the client has a report, built with iReports, installed on 5.6.1.
He runs the report successfully and would like to save the output on the JS server in a folder.
He saves it to a folder using the "Save As" option from the main menu. However when he goes to this output folder and clicks on the saved report all he can do is to run the report again. He does not get the output of the report which he ran previously. “
Explanation and solution that would be helpful regarding this question:
According to the scenario above in the Save As operation participated not a report
output but the jrxml report itself. If the click operation is performed on such resource
it is expected behavior that it should be executed.
To get the initial output of the report execution in any format that you
would like to have you should:
- upload the report to JasperReports Server Repository
- navigate to the folder which stores this report
- right click on it and select Schedule
- in Schedule web user interface select Run now and select the desired type
of the output and its location in the Repository
The sequence of steps above should execute the report and generate
its output in the folder that was defined on the previous step.
Then this output (let's say PDF) can be copied in any location in the same Repository.
