Jaspersoft Studio – where is the .jasper file after compilation?

Issue:

I have a report with a subreport, but when I run or compile the subreport it does not create a .jasper file to use in the main report.

Resolution:

In Jaspersoft Studio select the menu item Project->Build Automatically. Now Studio will create the .jasper file in the same location as the .jrxml file.
