Jasper Web Application down. Logon page spinning

Issue Description

Jasper Web Application down. After increasing the java memory to 12GB. Jasper is up for about 1 week and it crashed again with the error:Apr 06, 2016 8:19:39 AM com.sun.jersey.spi.container.ContainerResponse mapMappableContainerExceptionSEVERE: The exception contained within MappableContainerException could not be mapped to a response, re-throwing to the HTTP containerjava.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space

Resolution

The new java heap settings the customer set were not taking effect, as shown when running the diagnostic report. Upon further investigation,they needed to add the -d64 parameter for the new heap size to take effect, as their OS was using 64 bit architecture.
