Issue Description
We noticed that the /WEB-INF/logs/jasperserver.log file wasn't created. We then created /WEB-INF/logs/jasperserver.log and changed the logging levels to be DEBUG so we could test that the log file is working properly. Unfortunately the log file never gets populated with anything despite the logging levels or even watching it throw an error. We have also changed the permissions to allow anyone to access the directory /WEB-INF/logs and same with the actual log file jasperserver.log. What can be done to fix this?
Resolution
The jasperserver.log file location is configurable in the following parameter:log4j.appender.fileout.FileThis is found in the jasperserver-proWEB-INFlog4j.properties file. By default, the location is set to ${jasperserver.root}/WEB-INF/logs/jasperserver.logThis can be set to any directory, as long as the user running JasperServer has permissions to write to thatdirectory. Also, you can find the context variable used in jasperserver-proWEB-NFweb.xml.
