Hive salve connection error

Issue:

java.sql.SQLNonTransientConnectionException: [TibcoSoftware][Hive JDBC Driver]Error establishing socket to
host and port: <vm-->-slave-01.pfa.jaspersoft.com:10000.
Reason: Connection refused (Connection refused) at tibcosoftware.jdbc.hivebase.ddcp.b(Unknown Source) at 
.....

Solution:

When connecting to Hive in cloudera or hadoop eco system make sure the hostname used in url is of  master hostaname and not slave.

As in above error the hostname used was of slave which resulted in connection refused issue.
