various interface glitches, especially when using the feature called "preview". Panels with drawing failures and disappearing, see the attached files displaying the problem.

Tested on Ubuntu 14.04 (x64) and Ubuntu 16.04 (x64 fresh install) with both .deb and .tar.gz (x64).

Have the same problem. It occurs when the report is wider than the panel width. Palette and Properties are overwritten with the report.
I have also experienced previous report layout showing when I switch between reports (when I have several reports open).
Nevertheless, Studio doesn't crash so it's not a serious problem with me.

Same in V6.3.0 with Ubuntu 16.04 64 bits. For me its not usable, because every action need a maximize and minimize to refresh and see the change

It seems that it's a problem with eclipse an the GTK version included with Ubuntu (see http://askubuntu.com/a/761680/578171).
The solution, is:
1.- Get the Jasper Studio in .tgz package (not .deb)
2.- Untar an edit the script runubuntu.sh, inserting the line: export SWT_GTK3=0 (see attached image).
3.- Execute runubuntu.sh to launch Jasper Studio.
4.- Enjoy.

I have the same problem on centos 7 64bit with GNOME, the graph interface wont refresh on a element change(repainting the doc failed), so I tried start from CLI and got this WARN:
*** BUG ***
In pixman_region32_init_rect: Invalid rectangle passed
Set a breakpoint on '_pixman_log_error' to debug

As you guys did not provide a script for all distro, the solution that works for me was:

First export SWT_GTK3=0, then ./Jaspersoft\ Studio on CLI. IT'S seems working well.

jasperssoft on ubuntu 16.04 simply doesnt work, its awful. Screen doesnt refresh, it only refreshes and I see my change when I save the report.

Hi all,

I already explained there a couple of partial workaround. One you guys already mentioned using the export SWT_GTK3=0, and forcing to use GTK2.

The issue is fixed in the upcoming version (out soon). This blocking behavior and other major glitches were fixed using mostly Ubuntu 16.04 and 14.04 as test environment.

thx mate, I tried the export SWT_GTK3=0, it didnt work, just made things worse to be honest.
I think at this stage I will try apply the plugin to Eclipse 4.6.2, see if that works, thank you for the responses
