When attempting to publish a report to the server I get an invalid jrxml error, this only happens when I set the queryString language value to xpath or xpath2. The report works locally.

Did you try to manually import the report into JasperReports Server? If that works, then this is most likely a Jaspersoft Studio issue and it should be moved to that project.
