There are many reports that excel auto fit column property doesn't work. This has been going on ever since JRS 5.0 and still no resolution.
I am hoping that somebody from the Support team will take a look at this issue since flexible columns is one of the most valuable thinks in excel.

What is worse is that there was another issue #3533 but for some reason it was deleted without any reason, or resolution.
Thank god we have google caching....

It seems that the bug fix finally made it to production with JSR 5.6!!

The bug is fixed in iReport V5.6?
I am facing same problem as you said.
My iReport version is 5.5.1.
İf it is so, I will upgrade my ireport.
