If the Jasper Rpeorts library is used to generate large output PDFs using the PDF/A-1a format, the documents are not compliant (as verified using Adobe Acrobat). The limit to the number of elements of internal arrays of 8191 elements is exceeded. I am not sure if there is a way to fix this in the way the Jasper Rpeorts library uses iText.
There is no such problem with PDF/A-1b documents - this is probbaly related to the tagging of internal PDF/A elements (exists in 1a but not in 1b docs).

Bug is generally always reproducible with large documents. If required, I will attach report templates and test data...
Please do attach a self contained test case, that way we will know for sure what we are talking about.
Thank you,
Lucian
I attach here a self-contained example: report and sub-reports, XML input, generated PDF/A-1a and verification result by Adobe Acrobat.
Best regards,
Ivan
