Summary:
adapt fontsize to fieldsize button

Hi !

Using fields and reports efficiently makes its neccessary to adapt the field-height to the font-height. So the designer does not waste a lot place.

I've got an idea for two usefull buttons:

first button:
adapt the fieldsize to the fontsize if fontsize is the main criterium.

second butten:
adapt fontsize to fieldsize, if the fieldsize is the main criteria.

greetings
Sven

I agree this feature is necessary. Especially in the second case which is actualy known in typography as "tracking" (the best description is at:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tracking_%28typography%29).

As a some kind of conclusion of this second case here it would be very useful if iReport supported both "tracking" and "kerning" within text fields. I'll give a
particular example. Let's say we have a standard form with ten lines and every line consists of twenty "boxes" - each for only one character. If the first line should contain one filed retreived from database (which is twenty or less characters
long) and the form must preserve its size (fitting an A4 sheet for example) neither proportional, nor any monospaced font is of real use without proper tracking.

best regards,
Ivan Popov
