Sorry for posting this in iReport - I didn't see a link to a "Jaspersoft Studio" bug tracker.
When opening a .jrxml file I created in iReport 4.0.0, Jaspersoft Studio throws an exception when parsing the encoding name. This is easy to remedy by selecting a supported encoding (such as UTF-XX). See the stack trace in Additional Information.
