I take one element, for example text. I copy it and take it on some other place. I cannot edit its properties. I can only change text. And the most irritating part is that I cannot delete it.

Extremily strange. Can you post your jrxml? The fact that the element is showing an alert icon is not a good sign...

Sorry, I cannot post jrxml due to NDA. The same behaviour happened with the other element not having the warning icon.
I discarded changes, opened the file again from Eclipse to iReport and everything was normal (no restart of iReport, just closing the file).
