iReport v3.7.6
It seems that iReport is opening a 'cached' copy of the JRXML for a Report instead of loading it from the source.
If I remember correctly, I have seen this happen in the recent older versions on iReport too.
This is also easily seen if you have two JRXML files named the same in different folders that have slight difference in content.
