If you have a Title Case Based table names, eg. Test, when you use the SQL designer, it will say that 'test' cannot be found and therefore will not show the fields in the table. It will convert the Title Case to Lower Case automatically.
On the other hand, if you have lower case table names, then you will see all the fields in the table.
