Page X of Y with virtualizer: Y is blanck

2006-02-13 00:58

I use Jasper reports 1.2 and Ireport 1.1.0; I had the same problem with jasper1.1.1

In the page footer of my report I put the 'page X of Y" field ; It works fine when i generate a pdf file without using virtualizer.

but if I generate it with virtualizer in some pages the Y (number of page) is blank !

the behaviour is ok, when simulating the generation in Ireport, but fails when I am generating it in a websphere environnment.

I really need help!

regards

I haven't seen this problem before, we'd have to reproduce it to see what the causes it.

Are you using the same data when simulating in iReport? Could you post more details regarding the environment/data (used JVM, data size, virtualizer parameters, maybe a simplified report showing the problem..)?

Regards,

Lucian

hello

here is the code I use :

JRFileVirtualizer virtualizer = new JRFileVirtualizer(5,temp_dir);

virtualizer.setReadOnly(true);

parameters.put(JRParameter.REPORT_VIRTUALIZER, virtualizer);

JasperPrint jasperPrint = JasperFillManager.fillReport(name, parameters, dataSource);

output = JasperExportManager.exportReportToPdf(jasperPrint);

The data size could be very short or long, the same problem occurs.

we generate the report in a IBM websphere 5 environnment with the jre 1.4 version .

I'd like to send you a report showing the problem but is it possible through this forum? I don't find how to send an attached file!

regards

virtualizer.setReadOnly(true) is supposed to be called after the print object has been generated and finalized, i.e. after fillReport(..).

Let me know whether changing this solves the issue.

Lucian

HI

In the page footer of my report I put the 'page X of Y" field ; It works fine when i fill my report without using virtualizer.

but if I generate it with virtualizer in some pages the Y (number of page) is blank !

I saw this problem in the forum at http://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=3572786 but anyone showed a solution.

I'm using version 1.2.3 of jarperreports and my code is

JRGzipVirtualizer JRGzipVirtualizer virtualizer = new JRGzipVirtualizer(100);

virtualizer.setReadOnly(true);

parameter.put(JRParameter.REPORT_VIRTUALIZER,virtualizer);

.....

// Se crea se el datasource del reporte

JRDataSource jrDataSource = new JRBeanCollectionDataSource(dataSource);

// Con el dataSource se crea el jasperPrint

JasperPrint masterPrint = JasperFillManager.fillReport(jasperReport,

parameter, jrDataSource);

it's run on a win XP , with java 1.5.0

can anyone help me?

please , Lucian do you know something about this problem?

thanks a lot
