Specifying text attributes within text field

2003-07-18 09:51

If you have a paragraph of text to display in a text field, is there any way to specify different formatting for different sections of text within the text field? For example, making a single phrase within the paragraph bold, but leaving the rest not bold?

Check the "styledtext" sample that comes with

the latest version of the library.

Thank you,

Hi Teodor,

thx for the latest release! I just checked the "styledtext" Sample... it's pretty good. Thanks a lot.

But why you deciced using own syntax for styling single elements of text and not the basic HTML-tags? Wouldn't that have been easier?

I ask this, because we want to store styled text in DataBase... for editing that text a already existing simple HTML-Text-Editor is surely the best way.

But with your own syntax the HTML-tag-syntax must be converted to your own syntax again. And if you choose HTML as output for the report the syntax has to be converted again.

But it's not so tragic, so we have to look for an text editor that handles simple HTML-Tags and write a own converter to your syntax before filling the report.

Or is it any standardized XLS-Syntax you used and I don't know?

greetings from germany
