Different font formatting in a text element

2003-04-24 06:22

Is there a way to write a long text in a text element, with some words underlined or bolded?

I would like to use a text element (which can expand on more lines if the text is long) for each phrase and have only some words bolded.

I think that using directly the iText library this would be accomlished adding to a Phrase object some Chunks of text, each with different formatting, but I do not know if a text element in Jasper Reports has this option.

Thanks,

Marco.

Oh, I think this new functionality will be really helpfull. Do you think to let the engine render some tags into the text fields (like <b></b>, <u></u> and so on)?

Bye,

Marco.

Hi,

This is not possible in JasperReports for the moment.

It will be when we'll introduce the ability to render

HTML content placed in text fields.

Thank you,

Teodor

I would love to see support for HTML content in text fields.

Is this enhancement targetted for one of the next versions?

Is there any workaround that I could use today that would allow me to change the formatting of some words within a text field?

Thanks,

Yoni

Somehow, I don't think there is. Your only option would be to break up the text field and try to keep them aligned with each other.

Hi,

This is now possible using styled text.

Check the "styledtext" sample for details.

Thank you,

Teodor
