Report Studio HTML5 line chart

Hi all,

I am a newbie so please excuse my ignorance. I have the following data set which is generated from the sql analytical query that I am looking to turn into a line chart.

period	summed	orderPeriod
17-Dec	69061230.15	12/1/2017
18-Jan	101563562.4	1/1/2018
18-Feb	119569031.1	2/1/2018
18-Mar	118191987.8	3/1/2018
18-Apr	123163992.7	4/1/2018

18-Jul	133295855.6	7/1/2018
18-Aug	117197691.9	8/1/2018
18-Sep	299121973.3	9/1/2018
18-Oct	128298360.4	10/1/2018
18-Nov	137291993.8	11/1/2018
18-Dec	135947879.9	12/1/2018

The datatypes are as follows:

Period: String

Summed: big decimal

datePeriod: Date

I have tried evrything I can think of to turn this into a line graph but with no luck. I am tring to set the period as the x-axis and the summed as the y-axis. I know once I see how this isdone, I will be fine from that moment forward but I am definately having issues getting the first chart knocked off and decided it was time to ask for help from you experts. 

I really appreciate any assistance you pros can give me.

Hi,

Did you followed these steps ?

First create a report, then add a DS (dataset) (in the Outline window) with your query, then drag a chart from the palette in the band you need, link your chart to the DS and specifiy your x-axis, y-axis...

All I did was create a report with the sql to produce the records you see above, dragged a chart to the details band and attempt to set the x and y. I do not want to display the actual data in the report. Only the chart.

@Yann22300, you gave me enough of a clue to be able to get this working. It was the dataset step that I skipped that created the issue. Thanks!
