patricia.williams Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 I have created a report using Jaspersoft 6.1 and it is installed on myJasper Server build 20141128_1450. When I run the report, one of my text field parameters is a hyperlink to a document existing elsewhere in my network. It works fine. If I click on the export As PDF, the report is viewable in another browser window with a url as http://10.10.10.32:8082/jasperserver-pro/flow.html/flowFile/C_EsummaryTotalsStatic.pdf and the links work just fine. However, I want this report to exists somewhere else on my network for others to view/use. But after a copy, the links are not active. What am I doing wrong? Or how do I export the pdf with working links to put somewhere on my network for public viewing?
peter.w Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 I am not sure if I understand your problem but..You generate a report called "C_EsummaryTotalsStatic"This has hyperlinks to a report called eg "\someservermy_network_shared_folderreport1.pdf" and these hyperlinks work. You then export it as pdf "C_EsummaryTotalsStatic.pdf"At this stage on your system the hyperlinks to "\someservermy_network_shared_folderreport1.pdf" still workYou then copy the "C_EsummaryTotalsStatic.pdf" to a share eg: "\someservermy_network_shared_folder"The hyperlinks to "\someservermy_network_shared_folderreport1.pdf" don't workIs this correct? The problem is "\someservermy_network_shared_folder" can be mapped to user#1 J: drive and user#2 F: driveassuming everyone is using PC and no one is using Mac or LinuxOption 1 <-- recommendedMake the report available to the anonymousUser on Jasper and tell everyone to get it there. Option 2Make the hyperlink to "report1.pdf" local to the location of C_EsummaryTotalsStaticE.G. : ".report1.pdf"And put both in the same folder and tell the users to copy everything to a local folder or date stamp the name of the files. Why copy?because you may find yourself in the position that a user has the file open and you want toupdate and you will not be able to.
