PHP Application replacing iReport responsability - Some case or experience?

Hi friends.

 

I work at a university, in the technology department and our Team are planning and development a PHP application to allow users build your reports directly with our Academic System, developed with Zend Framework (php), replacing the iReport responsability and generating the informations to .jrxml files directly from our application. The iReport is the best tool to build reports, but our main programming language is PHP.

 

Does anyone have any experience or did a similar project?

I have only tested Jasper reports with basic PHP template scripts, and it worked for me.
