to whom it may concern....

 

I've made a patch based on the current JR version 1.2.0 to extend the <style> syntax for the recognition of super- and subscript attributes.

So far everything is working, due to a trick. From what I learned through the internet, TextAttribute.SUPERSCRIPT will not be rendered nicely on java 1.5.x and

is NOT rendered on prior versions (correct me if I'm wrong). We are developing with 1.4.x, so the java 5 stuff could not be verified by me.

For the time being, I changed the textsize and added a transformation to shift the corresponding characters up and down. This is totally sufficient for us and I would ask Teodor to review the code and possibly integrate it in a forthcoming release if this is of value for you.
