Java string to report and break new line

In my java code, im looping and concating it. making my string big.

When Im at report, I want to breaking like in my textField... I tried to add </br> or \n and didnt work

Basically my string was this: "abc n 123 abc 123 </br> abc 123 abc 123" and didnt work.

and I'm using a value for this textField: $F{reason}
