Report Templates and GroupField Text Field

I'm trying to create a report template to be used by others at my site as a basis for creating reports.  I've followed the directions in the User Guide, and the Column Header and Detail fields (Label and "Field") are both doing what I'd expect when I create a new report with the template.  The Group Header field ("GroupField") isn't behaving the same way.  I still see the Text FIeld on the report I created with the template.  the Label static text and "Field" text field are not there, only the Group Header "GroupField" text field.  Has anyone else seen this?  Is there something I'm doing wrong?
