add dates in adhoc viewer

I found out that there is a way to add two dates in adhoc viewer. You have to got to data selection and measures field then right click the measure and select create custom field. The problem here is i don't have the option to create a custom field...why?

The approach for creating custom fields changed somewhere around JRS 5.6, I think.  Now they are called calculated fields and you get to them differently. Look a tthe documenation to get started, for example:
