I'm running JasperReports Server community edition 6.1.0 on Windows with a standard installation (Tomcat and PostgreSQL).

I have setup a scheduled job to save a report on disk and to email it, every 5 minutes. I can see that it runs every 5 minutes since the file is saved in the repository but the email is not always sent. About half of the emails get sent.

I have been monitoring my firewall log to see if the mailserver is contacted at all and found out that it is not even contacted when I don't receive emails.

I cannot find anything about it in jasperserver.log (or any other log file). Why is the email not always sent?

I've found it better to use Jaspersoft ETL (Talend ETL) tSendMail component to send reports.

Just schedule reports to a file system and  use tFileExists to check if a report has been generated.
