kcravi Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Hi,I am new to Jaspersoft. Currently we use BusinessObjects XI reporting. We are moving to Jaspersoft 5.6.1 due to our application vendor selection of this tool to replace BO. Our current BO repository is in Oracle 11g in AIX machine. We are planning to buy new hardware machine to host Jasperserver respository database. I am new to sizing of hardware and database. I don't find anything related to sizing (number of cpus, core, diskspace and etc.) in the Jaspersoft documentation. Also our application vendor didn't provide. So I need some guidance. Below are my questions1. Can we use AIX based Oracle 11g to host Jasperserver Repository database?2. Recommended number of CPUs, cores, memory and storage space and any other configuration3. I know BO repository is different from Jasperserver repository. BO uses filestorage along with RDBMS but I believe Jasperserver uses only RBDMS. So I assume that Jasperserver repository db would be big compared to BO. Is that true?4. We have 2000 users and concurrent 200 users in BOXI. If we have same number of users in Jasperserver, how can we arrive the sizing?I am not sure whether I asked the questions in the correct way. But any help is appreciatedThanksRegardsKC Ravi
hozawa Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Oracle 11g R1/R2 is supported. You'll have to do some testing to find number of CPUs and memory because this is greatly dependent on how much processing is required to generate reports. It's not the number of users that factors, it's the number of concurrent users logged in generating reports that matters. You'll need to do some baseline analysis.
