I have encountered an issue trying to save my report into ReportServer 6.0.1 (Linux) - invalid JRXML.

I have managed to breakdown the problem into a very easy recreatable case - create a report and make no changes - the report will save. If I change a style to be (say) Right-Aligned and then save, I get the Invalid JRXML message.

The same occurs if you try and create a style inherited from a style

What am I doing wrong, or is it a bug ?

You need to be using the same version/revision of JasperReport as JasperReports Server. Since there is no JasperReports Server 6.0.4 available, you need to be using JasperReports 6.0.1.

JasperReports 6.0.4 can be used with Jaspersoft Studio 6.0.4 and when writing your own Java program.

Richard, a question for you... Am I reading your question right, are you using Jaspersoft Studio with ReportServer (reportserver.net)?  If so, do you have it connected to upload the JRXML files directly from Studio?
