ja_clemmons Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 What's the difference between the two:+ Jasper: Open source ((under GNU license) Java library that can be packaged with the CPC web application. Provides capability for “embedded” canned reports. + Jaspersoft: Reporting Server and a BI tool provided by the same company that provides Jasper open source library. This requires separate installation and administration. One of developers stated they'd use Jasper not JasperSoft. Is there a difference or is it one in the same?
hozawa Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 What's "Jasper"? For that matter, there's no such software named "Jaspersoft".There's no such software. Please provide links to software you're mentioning.I think what your developer uses is "JasperReports" Java library. "Jaspersoft" is the name of the company that develop and sells software and services based on "JasperReports". I think what your developer mentioned as "Jaspersoft" is actually "JasperReports Server" which is a web based application using JasperReports Java Library to allow users to use web browsers to generate and view reports.
