I have just started working with Jasper Reports and not sure how to open or edit the file. (see image below)

The filename & extension that it uses inside my Salesforce application is report.format

  • Can this file be edited in Jasper iReport?
  • What is the correct procedure for creating a similar file that can be posted back to my Salesforce application?
  • This is for a report template that prints to pdf.

Thanks!

Sorry, no. If you can, try csv format. If you don't need real time data, the way to go is to use JaspersoftETL to connect JasperReports Server database to Salesforce.

hozawa, thanks for the comment and answer.

I have a lot to learn about the Jasper Reporting Engine and related apps..

- Is there anything else you can tell me about this file.. or what part of the "Jasper" world it came from if any at all?

- Does the .print extension have anything to do with Jasper?

- Lastly, where is a good source link/document for getting started with the Jasper Reporting Engine
