libero Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 Hello, why Jaspersoft Studio not supported the JDK1.8?orebil
Solution Massimo Rabbi Posted December 11, 2014 Solution Posted December 11, 2014 Hi,which version of JSS are you using? Standalone or plugin one?The RCP standalone version of JSS is based on Eclipse 3.8.2 and there is no support for Java 1.8. We are currently bundling the JRE 1.7.0_67.You can try to use JSS plugin inside for example a recent Luna Eclipse installation. Anyhow I'm not sure how it will work fine: for sure it's not tested. For example, I know there are some open bugs for JasperReports about Java 1.8.Regards,Massimo.
libero Posted December 12, 2014 Author Posted December 12, 2014 Hello Massimo, thanks for your quick answer.Currenty I use the JSS Version 6.0.0 with JRE 1.7.0.u25.When can I expect a standalone version that supports JDK 1.8?Thanks,orebil
Massimo Rabbi Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 Hi,there is no plan at the moment to move to 4.x with the standalone version. Transitioning to Eclipse 4 depends on many factors, included the fact that for now an important part of JSS is relying on GEF framework. Unfortunately GEF 4 is far from being production ready. Therefore I can not give you a precise date. Plus, before there should be the JasperReports support for JDK 1.8: I'm not sure it is like this right now.Regards,Massimo.
libero Posted December 17, 2014 Author Posted December 17, 2014 Hello Massimo, thanks for your answer. Then I'll probably have to wait. Thanks, orebil
