Jasper Reports not showing Times new roman / serif fonts on pdf version

Hi

Does anybody know why when viewing a Jasper Report in PDF format  either in the Designer or via the Jasper server it seems to ignore Times New Roman / Serif fonts and displays the text in a San Serif format?

When viewing the report directly in Jasper (preview in the Designer) the fonts show correctly (Times New Roman) its only on the PDF version that the fonts are not showing as they should?

What is causing this in PDF view and what is the fix?

Have you tried explicitly defining Times New Roman as an Custom Font and embedding it in the pdf document? (try googling "jasperreports custom fonts")

Hello 

Just create a custom font using the ttf file of Times Of New Roman and upload that ttf file in ireport or JasperStudio and check the checkbox embed the font in pdf . Then just closed your iReport or JasperStudio and start it again. You will be able to see the desired font in pdf export.
