labels in pie charts always visible on server

I set show Show Labels to False in chart's properties. It does not show up in studio preview, but still shows up on the server. I was able to explicitly set the label to null, and that will get rid of the label on the server, but the graph is still sized as if the labels were there. Is there any why to get rid of the label on the server without setting it to null?
