iReport Jasper Repository SSO Issue

I am using a SSO soultion using http headers for auth on the jasper server, how then do I go about connecting iReports to my jasper repo, it allows me to enter a username and pass but this simply fails and leads to an HTTP Status 401 - No AuthenticationProvider found for.... error.
