Verification fails for elements out of band

2005-10-07 03:50

Hi,

some elements in my reports are purposely out of band. They are out of the page area, too, so I use them as "information holders" for someone looking at the Report Design.

With 0.6.8, the JRVerifier just prints a warning about these elements. With 1.0.2, the code of the JRVerifier adds the warning to the brokenRules Collection:

if (element.getY() + element.getHeight() > band.getHeight())

{

// if (log.isWarnEnabled())

// log.warn(

// "Warning : Element bottom reaches outside band area : y=" + element.getY() +

// " height=" + element.getHeight() +

// " band-height=" + band.getHeight()

// );

brokenRules.add(

"Warning : Element bottom reaches outside band area : y=" + element.getY() +

" height=" + element.getHeight() +

" band-height=" + band.getHeight()

);

}

I don't want to change the code of the JasperReports distribution, so could someone give me a hint how to cirmumvent the problem?

I don't really care for the element-out-of-band warning, but I am concerned about the compiler failure.

Thanks in advance!

Peter
