gerick
I have an existing 2-page PDF file that needs to be used as the basis for a report. I know that I can use iReport to recreate the PDF as a .jrxml and use that for reporting. Is there a way to use the existing pdf as the template? donna.ragsdale
I am using Jaspersoft iReport Designer 5.6.0 and would also like to use an existing pdf as a template so that I can then create a report that will fill in fields. I know there are other fillable form products, but I am wanting to use iReport for some particular reasons. At this time, I am able to create an image of the pdf form and add it to the detail band and overlay fields. In the Designer view, the quality of the image is horrible, but when the report runs, it looks fine. This would be a viable solution except the report-generated pdf size is very large. 1. Is there a way to use an existing pdf as a template without converting it to an image?2. Is there a way to decrease the size of the report-generated pdf?
