Floating detail width

I have a report with a title, and some content in the detail band. The only content I'm adding in the detail band is a Parameter value printed as a TextField. The problem is that the detail band has a fix width and depending on the content of the parameter I need it to be larger or smaller.

I have tried setting "net.sf.jasperreports.print.keep.full.text" to true but is not working. If the content of the textField is larger than the detail width it truncates the content.

Does anyone know how to achieve that?

Did you check the "Stretch With Overflow" option on parameter properties?

Thanks for your anwer. I have checked the parameter properties and I don't find "Stretch with Overflow" option for any parameter. It could be because I'm using an older version of ireport? Actually I'm using 3.5.0.

 

The properties I can set for the parameter are the following ones:

- Name

- Parameter Class

- Use as prompt

- Default Value Expression

- Description

- Properties
