cbarlow3
I usually write my reports in iReport and then deploy them to the JasperReports Server, but I also have to support clients who are attempting to create ad-hoc reports directly in JasperReports Server. Today they ran across a problem I hadn't seen before, but I can easily duplicate. I create a basic report from an existing Topic. I can save it, I can run it. Then I decide that I want to add a filter based on one of the columns. In design view I can create the filter and specify that I only want to display rows where this value is "No". The preview in design mode reacts accordingly and still looks fine. But then I can't save the report anymore. Regardless of whether I choose "Save as..." and choose the same folder as before or whether I just choose "Save", I get:"You do not have permission to write to this location. Please choose another folder, or contact your system administrator."I can't imagine that the problem is the Reports folder that I just finished saving the report to successfully. I have to think that somehow it's trying to save the filter information separately in a folder that I didn't specfify and that I don't have access to? I could have sworn that I've added filters before during a demo AND saved/run the resulting report, but this one really has me stumped. More testing reveals two facts that might help someone figure out what is going one:1. I tested with another Topic (the one I normally demo with), and I was able to add filters juts fine and still save/run.2. When I run into a problem saving the report, I've tried then DELETING the filter(s), and I STILL can't save the report. As soon as I add a filter, JasperReports Server treats the report differently when I try to save from then on.Any ideas? Here in the office, I'm running as jasperadmin during this test.CarlPost Edited by cbarlow3 at 03/03/2011 17:
