Sorting When Using an XML / XPath Report Query

Hello,

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

I am using iReport 3.7.6 to design a report.

The report concerned is using an XML file as a data source, with the fields difined as a report query using XPath.

Everything works fine until I try to define a sort using ANY field. After adding a field to sort on, and then clicking the 'Preview' button, the report fails to render, and I get bounced back to the design view. Nothing shows up in the 'Report Problem Window'.

Is sorting simply not allowed when using an XML data source? Does anyone have a direct answer for this, or advise on the best way to proceed in troubleshooting?
