JasperServer CE vs. Paid Version

Looking for feedback regarding user experience of the paid version of JS vs. the CE freeware version.  Specifically quality of support, but any other comments welcome.  I just can't seem to find much info and support for CE except in this forum and wonder if the paid version is much better.  We are have severe problems with scheudling, and the investment in the paid version would be well worth it if we felt it would solve our issues.  Just don't have that confidence right now, as it seems whenever something is fixed in JasperServer (and or iReports), something new pops up as an issue.

What you are getting here is "community" support.  Support by the community is only as good as the community feels like doing.  I have noticed that JS folks usually only step in (here) when there is an actual bug detected.  Makes sense.  They have bills to pay, too.

I use CE for my customers, as their needs have yet to exceed those capabilities.  However, I have a Pro license to (a) support JS; and (b) to get help when I need it and my customers are hot & bothered.

When you pay, there is another interface, and JS are committed to levels of support as outlined on their sales page over on the dot-com site.

JS folks do not realize then how important a marketing tool their involvement may be... and they are missing out on it.  Look at Talend: many people evaluate the software starting with the open source CE and make recommendations to their respective companies based on the tools' usability and the availability and effectiveness of the support staff.

In many companies it is not easy to "sell" any open source products, because of the view that they are not supported, however untrue it may be.

What do you have the Pro License for? JasperReports or the suite? If it is the suite, how much does it cost? (There is not much information about pricing on the site... or I could not find it.)

Thanks,

Gábor
